Warehouse Automation Engineer (Remote)

We’re recruiting a skilled engineer to lead the integration of cutting‑edge automation technologies into our warehouse operations. The successful candidate will partner with operations, IT, product, and external vendors to evaluate, design, pilot, and implement solutions that drive growth and efficiency.
Essential FunctionsRFP and New Business Support:
- Lead minor RFP projects and support the lead engineer on major RFPs by selecting and validating automation technologies.
- Build ROI and justification using multiple criteria to identify the optimal solution design.
- Support the creation of presentations with the Lead Automation Solutions Engineer.
SOW (Scope of Work) Contractual Validation:
- Identify gaps in vendor FSD/SOW using the FSD Checklist process.
Design Validation:
- Provide input on solution designs to ensure key items are considered for implementation and ongoing operational performance.
- Review design options for clearance issues, power requirements, cost effectiveness, and SLA targets.
Automation Procurement:

Help lead the building of collateral for vendor tech review request and requests for quotes.
Implementation Project Management:
- Manage smaller projects, update punch lists, project plans, and track milestones.
- Attend implementation status calls and verify on-site support utilization.
- Communicate with vendors and on-site staff, handle escalations, and coordinate post‑go‑live hypercare.
- Support the Solution Acceptance Test (SAT) testing plan and track punch list items after go‑live for uptime.
Data Analytics:
Implementation Commissioning and Solution Validation:
- Support SAT testing plans and punch‑list tracking.
Strategy and Success Measurements:
- Set personal goals and review strategy with manager.
Financial Responsibilities:
- Validate spend with manager and support project leads on budget tracking.
- Support vendor communication on minor projects.
- Develop pilot activities, hypotheses, proof‑of‑concepts, and evaluation timelines.
- Validate new technologies through POC implementations, Titus coordination, and business‑fit evaluation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling technologies, industrial engineering, or warehouse systems integration – preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse automation including sortation, conveyor, goods‑to‑person, autonomous vehicles/robots, ASRS – required.
- Experience with automation, management consulting, physical & process robotics – beginner, required.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, data analytics, Lean methods – beginner, required.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment, forklift applications, racking, packaging devices – intermediate, required.
- Warehouse design tools (CAD, slotting, MOST, simulation, WMS, labor mgmt); network design or data visualization tools – beginner, required.
- Industrial or mechanical engineering or equivalent operational knowledge – beginner, required.
