Packaging Engineer, Liquids at Helen of Troy Nevada Corporation in Marlborough, MA
Support R&D efforts for Helen of Troy’s beauty liquids product development. Oversee sourcing, testing, and implementation of new packaging solutions, taking into account industry trends, government regulations, and company sustainability initiatives.
Research, define, and source packaging solutions for new beauty products considering function, brand identity, sustainability, manufacturability, cost, and timeline. Build and maintain strong relationships with packaging suppliers, distributors, and contract manufacturers to ensure on‑time delivery of new product development initiatives. Organize and oversee preliminary testing to qualify new packaging prototypes. Oversee compatibility testing, drop testing, and transit testing to ensure packaging is robust and maintains product integrity.
Manage and maintain documents, including packaging specifications and test results/reports. Ensure new packaging initiatives align with the latest sustainability practices and market trends. Manage multiple projects showcasing adaptability and efficient organizing skills. Solve technical challenges in the packaging development process through analytical and collaborative means. Ensure successful manufacturing scale‑up of both packaging components and filled, finished products. Attend trade shows and industry events to maintain and grow creative and technical skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Polymer Science, Packaging or Chemical Engineering, Packaging Systems and Design, or related field and two (2) years of packaging experience. Total experience must include one (1) year of experience with:
- Liquids product packaging
- Packaging materials and components
- Global packaging regulations and industry standards
- Managing or supporting large‑scale projects from inception to completion
- Developing, prototyping, and testing packaging samples
Subject to background check.
Hybrid office/home work schedule.
Up to 5% domestic travel required.
Wage range: $88,421.00 to $ per year
