Join Jacobs as a Telecommunications BIM Designer and help us transform abstract ideas into innovative solutions across telecom, data center, and infrastructure projects.
Base Pay Range$71,000.00 – $93,150.00 per year
ResponsibilitiesAs a BIM Designer, you will design documentation and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members. Working under the direction of telecom discipline or project leads, you will showcase your Revit expertise while staying aligned with Jacobs and client BIM standards. Using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, you will create and manage content to produce fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C, S, A, M, E, P, T, I, L) and generate 2D construction drawings.
You will coordinate with other designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers to produce clash‑free 3D models that translate senior telecom design staff intent into constructable deliverables.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- At least 3 years of BIM design experience
- At least 3 years of experience in telecommunications systems design and construction
- Understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions
- Understanding of design and construction specifications
- Basic knowledge of wiring/cabling connections relating to circuits or device links
- Experience following client design and modeling standards
- Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling based on mark‑ups or verbal directions
- Willingness to learn new things
- At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience
- Understanding of data center environments
- Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom, audio‑visual systems
- Experience with life safety and security systems (fire alarms, access control, CCTV)
- Knowledge of control systems, network components, and topology
