What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and approve suppliers’ systems for chemical and metallurgical process control
- Conduct product and process reviews/surveillance at various suppliers
- Actively participate in investigations of chemical metallurgical issues at suppliers
- Conduct training on quality material control system requirements at suppliers
- Assist suppliers with non-conformance documentation and root cause corrective action investigations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience
- Strong background in chemical/metallurgical processes and quality control
- Proven experience in auditing suppliers’ processes and products
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of employees at suppliers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Degree in Material Science/Engineering
- Background in castings and testing/control of raw materials
- Experience with laser machining, electro-discharge machining, and other metallurgical processes
- Knowledge of product integrity and supplier quality systems
- Familiarity with continuous improvement activities
