Civil Designer Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD Civil 3D Designer who possesses a mastery in Civil 3D software and design. The ideal candidate will have at least an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology and over 10 years of experience. This role involves not only creating detailed civil site drawings but also mentoring and developing new designers.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed civil site drawings, layouts, and diagrams within the project scope, schedule, and budget using Civil3D.
Mentor and develop Civil Design staff within the Resource Business Group.
Work independently within the civil discipline without direction from the Architect/Engineer or other technical professionals.
Be responsible for their discipline model and generate Civil elements based on the Level of Development outlined in the Digital Delivery Plan and project scope.
Create and maintain the civil model, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output.
Produce designs identified in the Digital Delivery requirements through AutoCAD and Civil3D.
Mentor and develop the Digital Design staff within the civil discipline.
Accurately model Civil 3D elements considering the special constraints of the modeling environment.
Maintain the civil discipline model including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, and sheets.
Produce discipline-specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output.
Monitor, improve, and maintain company standards and model health.
Coordinate the design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and 3D Coordination processes.
Execute all Digital Delivery requirements identified on the project.
Contribute to the development of the business class digital needs.
Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
Extensive experience in site development, civil design, and layout design.
10+ years of relevant experience.
Leadership and mentorship experience.
Skills & Qualifications
Grading, survey, Revit, Navisworks, and drainage design experience.
At least an Associate's degree in Engineering Technology.
This role offers a flexible hybrid work structure, combining work-from-home and in-office days. Candidates can be located in Lexington, Louisville, Elizabethtown, Paducah, KY, or Chattanooga, Brentwood, TN, with location flexibility depending on circumstances. The team works primarily in the industrial power sector while also supporting mine layouts, environmental remediation, oil and gas projects, and power substation layout and design. There is a unique opportunity to gain experience across various industries and disciplines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
