Senior Smith Gardner, Inc. (S+G), a employee‑owned firm specializing in engineering and environmental consulting for the solid waste industry, is seeking a Senior Licensed Environmental Engineer or Geologist to join our Raleigh, NC office. The role will lead, manage, and deliver projects for solid waste clients throughout the Southeast.

This position involves planning, developing, managing, and coordinating geological investigations for solid waste clients. Key responsibilities include project management, geological assessment, water quality evaluation, remedial strategy development, and preparation of comprehensive environmental reports for regulatory agencies.

• Perform environmental investigation and data collection to support solid waste services.
• Conduct field reconnaissance, client meetings, and oversee drilling and well installation.
• Plan projects, prepare work plans, evaluate and summarize data, and create potentiometric surface and hydrogeologic cross‑section analyses.
• Prepare proposals, manage budgets, invoice monthly, schedule staff, and serve as client and regulatory liaison.
• Travel overnight within the region as required.

• BS or MS in Environmental Engineering or Geology (required).
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Licensed as a Professional Environmental Engineer or Geologist.
• Proven project‑management experience (tasks, people, budgets, schedules).
• Highly motivated with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, written, and verbal communication skills.
