Position Responsibilities- Perform mechanical design tasks for industrial facilities, including specification preparation, design and analysis calculations, detail definition, evaluation of existing facilities, construction monitoring, and on‑site data gathering.
- Review and perform engineering calculations, prepare specifications and technical reports, develop design details and communicate them to others. The individual is expected to be fully‑versed in aspects of structural engineering for the industrial sector, including the analysis and design of steel and concrete structures and foundation systems.
- Applicable experience sectors may include Power, Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Pulp & Paper, and/or Mining.
- Assist business development efforts by applying technical knowledge to identify and understand client needs and define scope of work requirements to support proposals.
- Coordinate effectively with other departments for multi‑discipline projects.
- Maintain and expand client relationships.
- Minimum B.S. degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of practical experience with piping design and equipment sizing/evaluations (pumps, compressors, mixers, etc.). Hydraulic design and capacity assessment is considered a plus.
- Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer.
- Thorough knowledge and familiarity in using relevant codes and standards.
- Master's Degree.
- Experience with hydraulic design and capacity assessment.
- Experience with construction observation.
- AutoCAD or Revit experience.
- Proficiency in one of the industry‑standard piping analysis programs such as Nozzle Pro, CAESAR II, AFT Software, ASPEN, or similar.
- Very strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Individual must have a work history that represents increasing responsibility, inclusive of leadership without authority.
- $120k – $140k per year, depending on candidate factors such as qualifications and experience level.
