As an Electrical Engineer Consultant, you will be responsible for utilizing your knowledge of electrical engineering principles and methods to develop solutions for a variety of operational, maintenance, design, and construction challenges. Your duties will involve representing the bureau on construction projects, working with outside professional engineers and architects, and advising other disciplines within the bureau and agency on a range of projects.

You will also assist in the construction and modification of various facilities, such as those related to security, food services, plant maintenance, safety, environmental energy, conservation, and building modifications to improve functionality and utility plant operations. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a wide range of professionals.

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week after successful completion of a 6-month training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg.

• Two years as an Electrical Engineer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);
  or
• Four years of professional electrical engineering experience which required work on any structural electrical system.

• You must possess a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

• This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
