Role Overview :
We are looking for a technically skilled Operator to join our gas distribution network team. This high-impact role will leverage your expertise to shape engineering standards, influence regulatory frameworks, and drive innovation. You will provide strategic engineering insight, ensure compliance with statutory and company standards, and mentor the next generation of engineers. Your work will support asset risk assessments and foster strong relationships with regulators and industry bodies, underpinning the safety, reliability, and performance of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert guidance on C&I systems, instrumentation, control systems, and SCADA within hazardous environments.

Ensure compliance with EAWR, DSEAR, EPS, and other relevant regulations.

Interpret complex technical data, drawings, and standards to make sound engineering decisions.

Mentor and influence technical teams and stakeholders.

Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes and standards.

Represent the organization in interactions with regulators, industry bodies, and external partners.

Requirements:

HNC/HND in Engineering or relevant discipline.

Proven expertise in C&I systems, instrumentation, and SCADA in hazardous environments.

Strong knowledge of relevant regulations (EAWR, DSEAR, EPS).

Demonstrated engineering judgement, leadership, and communication skills.

COMPEX certification.

Track record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Full UK driving license and eligibility to work in the UK
