An exciting fresh new opening for a Workshop Technician looking for a challenging career where they can develop and progress with a leading multinational engineering company who currently design and develop futuristic factory automation products for covering various industries including:
Automotive, Scientific, Renewable Energy, Space, Medical, Food Processing and Consumer Products.
Location: Milton Keynes & Home Based (flexible)
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 - depending on experience, superb career and technical progression available, Bonus Scheme, Pension, Private Medical Insurance, 25 days holiday, sports and social club and subsidised canteen, company car, mobile phone.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Workshop TechnicianTo provide support to all activities undertaken by the company's workshops. Adhere to the health and safety rules within the facility. Time on the below is equally shared and depends on current issues.
- Machining of mechanical components designed by the company's Engineers for prototype or concept special products, test jigs or test rigs
- Support Engineers with testing, construction of test rigs, set up and monitoring of tests and report results according to instructions
- Build electrical panels and control boxes designed by the engineers
- Maintenance – maintain stock levels
- Assist team leader in general workshop activities such as:
Calibration, CoSHH, H&S, machine maintenance etc
- Apprentice served Engineering background
- NVQ level 3 or BTEC ONC qualification in Mechanical and Production Engineering
- Machining experience with lathes and mills. CNC and Manual.
- Previous experience working in a workshop environment
- Familiar with the following MS office applications:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook - HNC qualification in Mechanical and Production Engineering
- Knowledge of COSHH, Health and Safety and calibration
- A basic understanding of electrical and pneumatic circuits
- Test rig and Panel assembly
