What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

• Accept projects weekly with defined due dates based on your availability
• Read disclosures quickly and understand technical nuances that may distinguish them from prior art
• Perform comprehensive searches to locate the most relevant prior art and provide a complete search history
• Prepare written opinions applying relevant prior art to disclosures
• Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and uphold quality deliverables

What is Required (Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related field
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field
• At least 1 year of work experience in the industry or advanced research in a related field
• Must pass a USPTO background check and obtain a Public Trust Clearance
• U.S. citizen or work‑eligible legal resident who has resided in the U.S. for the last two years

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

• Previous patent examining or patent searching experience
• Highly skilled in developing search methodologies and conducting searches
• Strong time management skills to complete projects against deadlines
• Experience with patent searching tools like Orbit, Pat Base, Google Scholar, or Pat Seer
• Master’s degree or Ph.D. is a plus
