Responsibilities
What your day will look like
Project Management and Design
Technical support and design on projects related to municipal infrastructure including water supply, sewers, roads, site servicing and storm water managementContribute technical expertise to functional design, detailed design and construction administration activities of multidisciplinary project teamsLead and support municipal infrastructure projects related to water supply, sewers, roads, site servicing and storm water managementRegularly interact with project team members including planners, environmental scientists, engineers and technologistsMaintain regular interaction with clients, agencies, utilities and other project stakeholdersBusiness Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to support the growth of the practice. Support submissions in response to Requests for ProposalsTravel to other Dillon offices, as required, to support project delivery and business development initiatives.Learning & Development
Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentProvide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior staff, supporting their career growth and development.Enhance Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesQualifications
What you will need to succeed
A degree in civil engineeringLicensed to practice as a professional engineer, or eligible to be licensed within six months8+ years' professional experience, preferably in the consulting industryExperience
Experienced in the design of various municipal infrastructure including water supply systems, sewage systems, roadways, storm water management works, underground and surface site servicing works, and/or waste management facilitiesExperience in the design of linear water and sewer and treatment infrastructure in northern Canadian communities would be an asset.In depth knowledge of contract administration services and requirements, including Master Municipal Construction DocumentsFamiliarity with municipal servicing standards and environmental approvals requirementsDemonstrated skills in public and agency consultationStrong proficiency in proposal and report writing, presentations, communications, organization and interpersonal skillsExceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essentialDemonstrated experience related to business development and client retention.Why choose Dillon
