We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Designer to join our team and contribute to our exciting projects in the nuclear sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in piping and mechanical design, particularly in an EPC environment. This role involves preparing, designing, modifying, coordinating, and reviewing various engineering designs and documents. Join us to be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering innovative solutions and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Provide piping/mechanical design support for Engineering Change (EC) design packages.

Prepare electronic documents in AutoCAD Plant 3D, including sketching, 3D computer modeling, and construction documents.

Apply relevant Codes & Standards and regulatory requirements, and coordinate with the design team to ensure compliance.

Interface with Engineering teams throughout the lifecycle of the design project to provide practical and effective solutions.

Coordinate 3D models between disciplines and construction teams to ensure seamless integration and minimize clashes.

Revise existing drawings/3D models from detailed verbal or written instructions, and/or marked-up drawings.

Implement field change requests by updating models, drawings, and BOMs to reflect construction modifications.

Develop mechanical equipment and piping layout designs, ensuring safe, accessible, and maintainable configurations.

Assist in developing designs and technical specifications for systems such as HVAC, boilers, plumbing, and other related systems.

Essential Skills

10+ years of total experience in an EPC environment (Oil & Gas, Mining, Nuclear, Powerplant, .

Mechanical Engineering Education

Professional experience using AutoCAD Plant 3D.

Experience performing Piping and Equipment Layouts (P&, PFD, process piping, equipment, instrument tubing, piping, and tubing supports).

Previous experience working on site.

Experience working with mechanical equipment such as heat exchangers, HVAC, pumps, and valves.

The work location is primarily on-site, with four days at the office located in the company site trailer at Darlington, and one day working from home. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bowmanville, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
