. This remote position, based in Indiana, offers flexibility in a home‑office setting and the opportunity to investigate structural failures, analyze damage, and uncover root causes for a diverse range of clients.
- Determine origin and cause of structural failures, roof damage, water intrusion, post‑fire damage, storm damage, foundation settlement, product liability, and construction defects.
- Conduct surveys and loss‑scene investigations at residential and commercial buildings.
- Document scope of damage caused by recent acute events.
- Analyze and document failure analysis, causation, and origins for insurers and litigation support.
- Collaborate with investigator teams to produce detailed reports outlining loss causes and origins.
- Serve as expert witness in court and/or depositions.
- Maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for forensic engineering projects.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in the resident state (multi‑state licensing and/or active NCEES record preferred).
- Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.
