Salary range: $113,300 – $188,880 CAD annually (target $120,000 – $145,000 CAD). Compensation decisions are based on internal equity, experience, education, leadership, and geography.
Job ObjectiveLead all SCADA activities for wind, PV, and BESS projects, ensuring ongoing operation, protection, and monitoring of the company’s SCADA system.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and implement telecommunication (FSI/teleprotection) solutions, providing technical and cost solutions to the project team.
- Conduct weekly SCADA status calls with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review all SCADA documents—schematic drawings, communication diagrams, control specifications, sub-system testing procedures, FAT/SAT tests, and IP address lists.
- Collaborate with internal teams on SCADA integration for operations (OCC, Monarch, PI).
- Support construction site teams locally and remotely to ensure SCADA works meet quality standards.
- Lead functional system testing, including end‑to‑end point checks, functionality, and compliance tests.
- Oversee all NERC compliance activities for the project’s local ISO.
- Coordinate external engineering resources to support project workload.
- Ensure all project documents meet EDF, ISO, and industry standards.
- Serve as technical lead, mentoring SCADA specialists and engineers.
- Develop engineering plans, studies, specifications, calculations, and design documents.
- Design SCADA for electrical stations, including RTU configuration changes and point lists on Monarch EMS/SCADA.
- Work with distribution system support to integrate remote data requirements into EDFR Monarch EMS/SCADA.
- Recommend engineering solutions to leadership.
- Maintain project timelines and budgets.
- Analyze and design engineering methods.
- Provide on‑call support for SCADA beyond office hours.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Minimum eight years of relevant technical leadership experience.
- Broad knowledge of codes, standards, and engineering principles for safe, reliable, maintainable, and cost‑effective designs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint) and various SCADA systems and communication protocols.
- Strong problem‑solving skills across multiple domains.
- Leadership in mentoring junior engineers.
- Excellent coordination of multi‑engineering deliverables and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Ability to work under high‑pressure while staying calm and focused.
- Rapid assessment skills with limited information or hypotheses.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
