Atkins is looking for an experienced professional to join our Buildings Structures team at our UAE offices. Key Responsibilities- Take design lead on a growing portfolio of significant and complex projects, ensuring quality and accuracy of all work.
- Encourage innovative, practical solutions and collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients and partners within a One‑Company mindset.
- Ensure structural designs are multidisciplinary coordinated, meet client briefs, local codes, and best engineering practice.
- Manage procurement, tendering, change management, contracts, variations, risks, cost control and schedule to achieve profit margins.
- Stay current with industry developments, H&S regulations and digital design delivery; promote this culture within the team.
- Maintain high standards of reliability and trust, contributing to repeat business and business development.
- Support an inclusive, motivated and engaging work environment.
- Maintain accurate project records for revenue, resource forecasting and commercial management.
- Deliver projects efficiently and competently, guiding multidisciplinary design work through established quality management procedures.
- Collaborate with other Atkins units, external sub‑consultants and research reviewers.
- Adapt to diverse cultures, work under pressure and be flexible with travel across the GCC and overseas when required.
- Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years on UAE projects.
- Working towards Professional Chartership with a recognised institution.
- Professional consulting experience, mainly in solution design and project/tender management.
- Experience leading consulting projects and acting as an engineering/technical resource.
- Full lifecycle design experience across all RIBA stages.
- Excellent written and oral English, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
