Title: Junior Estimator
Location: Remote location
Reports to: Preconstruction Manager
Responsibilities- Assist Preconstruction Manager with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
- Review drawings, specs, and addenda for scope clarity
- Perform material and labor takeoffs
- Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid clarifications to identify scope gaps, assumptions, exclusions, and risk items within contractor bids
- Solicit and track subcontractor and vendor quotes
- Compare bids and assist with leveling
- Maintain organized estimate files and bid logs
- Support value engineering and scope review efforts
- Prepare scope summaries and assist in creating handoff documentation to the operations team upon project award
- Input data into spreadsheets
- Coordinate with PMs, APMs and preconstruction team as needed
- 1–3 years of construction estimating experience
- Experience with commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferred
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Proficient in Excel
- Familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus
- Basic understanding of subcontractor scopes and CSI divisions
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience working for a General Contractor
- Exposure to Construct Connect
- Accurate, timely bids
- Clean bid comparisons
Strong support to Preconstruction Manager - Desire to ask questions and learn
- Ability to grow into a mid-level estimator role
