The IT Infrastructure Engineer III (Azure Engineer) will be responsible for setting up and managing the Azure tenant and development environment for a new generative AI project. They will join a team of 5 engineers currently and work cross functionally with multiple teams. This Engineer will work hands on keyboard and supporting the Azure environment. Experience building out landing zones is not needed as the architect on the team will be responsible for this.
This role is very Dev Ops based.
- Deploying, managing, and maintaining Azure-based workloads, with a focus on the infrastructure as a service aspect
- Configuring and integrating Azure Active Directory and other Azure services
- Ensuring proper permissions, access, and security roles are set up
- Providing support and guidance to the internal team, which has some Azure training but needs someone to 'kickstart the process'
- Collaborating with the networking team to understand subscriptions, costing models, and network resources
- Experience with Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Experience with VMware, hyperconverged infrastructure, physical compute, and storage to support the traditional on-premises infrastructure
The ideal candidate should have senior-level Azure expertise, with experience in setting up Azure landing zones and supporting cloud-based AI projects.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
