TheOpportunity
WSDOT seeks a Construction Project Coordinator 3 to manage concurrent facility improvement and preservation projects in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations. The successful candidate will serve as the primary project team leader, overseeing all project phases—planning, scoping, design, construction, and warranty. They will apply WSDOT policies, guide project teams, and ensure alignment with WSDOT values of safety, people first, teamwork, professionalism, respect, and integrity.
Whatto Expect
Occupants of this role may work outdoors in inclement weather, day or night, and in rough terrain. Hazards typical of construction sites (noise, dust, chemicals, equipment) may be encountered. The role includes field work, oversight, and written reporting.
Responsibilities- Develop, manage, and update the budget for all project phases.
- Verify funding sources, monitor spending, and revise plans as needed.
- Create and maintain project schedules.
- Evaluate project delivery methods and cost‑benefit considerations.
- Define project scope based on assignment information.
- Lead and manage project scoping, presenting solutions for approval.
- Coordinate the construction team throughout the project.
- Review contractor submittals, RFI, and change orders.
- Conduct field observations and specialty inspections.
- Schedule status meetings and prepare written summary reports.
- Experience managing complex facility projects from planning through construction.
- Technical knowledge of building systems, codes, and construction standards.
- Financial and budget management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Leadership and team coordination experience.

- Professional credentials (LEED‑AP, DBIA, PMP, CJP).
- Knowledge of Washington construction laws and regulations.

- Budget, schedule, contract, and construction oversight abilities.
- Ability to review and approve contractor work for payment and acceptance.
