Applications Engineer - Water Treatment

Overview

Wes Tech Engineering is seeking an Applications Engineer 2 to support estimation efforts and proposal creation for Water Treatment projects. Responsibilities include bidding water treatment plants with various equipment, compiling sales-level engineering documentation for construction bids, and collaborating with vendors. Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working with diverse stakeholders. Some candidates may be required to pass pre-employment and periodic screenings, including background checks, drug and alcohol tests, or other assessments.

• Review and/or create specifications from contractors and engineers; develop equipment specifications for customers and fabricators
• Prepare, maintain, and review documentation, including technical drawings and P&IDs
• Organize, prepare, and review Water Treatment proposals
• Prepare cost estimates
• Perform and interpret basic project-related calculations; respond to technical clarifications from customers
• Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Agent to develop sales strategies
• Conduct technical sales presentations with customers
• Work with various vendors and interdepartmental applications engineers
• Communicate project scope and details to Project Managers and Designers
• Peer review of bids

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Biological, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Generally 1-2+ years of related experience
• Willingness to travel (~25%)
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of chemistry and physics
• Proficient in computer applications and time management
• Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Ability to follow through and work well in a team
• Prior sales experience preferred

• Master’s degree in Engineering

• Ability to perform computer-based work for extended periods
• Some lifting up to 50 lbs may be involved
• May be required to be clean-shaven for proper fitting of respiratory equipment
