Design Engineer
Location:
Basildon, Essex, United Kingdom
Salary:
circa £45,000-£50,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
This innovative small business focuses on saving water and reducing carbon emissions, creating environmentally friendly products used globally. They are expanding their product range and seeking a skilled Design Engineer to work on NPD/NPI projects.
About the roleThis is a hybrid position with a 50/50 split between the Basildon workshop/design office and remote work from home.
Responsibilities- Work on NPD/NPI projects to develop new products.
- Design electromechanical components using 2D CAD and 3D modelling tools, primarily Solidworks.
- Apply knowledge of plastics injection moulding, fluid dynamics, hydraulics, motors, pumps, valves, gears, etc.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a production/manufacturing environment.
- Experienced Electromechanical Design Engineer in a production/manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical skills in 2D CAD and 3D modelling, preferably with Solidworks.
- Good knowledge of plastics injection moulding, fluid dynamics, hydraulics, motors, pumps, valves, gears, etc.
- Degree level qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Creative, energetic, ambitious, and able to contribute to the team’s mission to deliver.
