What Your Job Will Be LikeWe are looking for a dedicated Facilities Technologist to join our Facilities Mechanical Maintenance Team, focusing on our Facility Control System (FCS). This team currently oversees the control systems for approximately 80 buildings across California. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, including projects, maintenance, and engineering, to ensure the seamless operation of site‑wide facilities.
On any given day, you will be called on to:
- Troubleshoot FCS issues by verifying the functionality of field devices and sensors, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Assist in HVAC troubleshooting by analyzing trend logs and performance data to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Identify operational risks within the FCS and develop effective mitigation strategies to enhance system reliability.
- Support Maintenance Operations by diagnosing and resolving field‑related problems, providing technical guidance on system operation, maintenance, and necessary repairs.
- Regularly inspect and continuously monitor systems and equipment, troubleshooting any irregular or malfunctioning conditions as they arise.
- Perform quality control functions related to building automation systems, including programs, databases, graphics, alarms, and the startup and commissioning of related systems.
- Develop and implement programs based on Statements of Objectives (SOOs) from various project teams, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Manage project deadlines and respond to critical timing needs for facility operations to ensure timely and efficient system performance.
- Consult and collaborate with Facility Managers, System Engineers, Operations Engineers, Work Planners, and End Users on technical issues, ensuring that repairs and installations are planned efficiently and implemented effectively.
- Adhere to safety regulations and operational procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Support projects focused on HVAC control system installation and upgrades, enhancing existing control systems, and overseeing the activities of vendors and contractors working with building automation systems.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected candidate must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range$74,400 - $143,300
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require- High school diploma plus five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Facility Control System programming, operations, installation, or maintenance.
- Experience with the operation of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, VFDs (variable frequency drives), and/or other associated mechanical subsystems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q‑level security clearance.
