Senior Engineer - Fire Engineering

Overview

Senior Fire Engineer opportunity  role involves working on a variety of projects, from universities to high‑rise residential towers, with the aim of enabling innovative architectural design without compromising fire safety.

You’ll run through design information, liaise with other WSP disciplines (Facades, Acoustics and Structures), present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and help inform the design team about changes that could increase building safety.

There is a structured development path toward professional registration with IFE and other professional bodies, supported by a bespoke programme funded by senior leadership that provides professional and technical development opportunities.

• Review and progress design information for fire engineering projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and communicate design changes to improve safety.
• Engage in ongoing learning of software packages, fire standards, team briefings, and client updates from the outset.
• Participate in the bespoke development programme to build professional skills and pursue chartered status or equivalent qualifications.

• BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with in the fire engineering consulting industry.
• This role can be based from any of our UK major offices.
