Environment Support / Systems Engineer
Leidos is seeking an Environment Support / Systems Engineer to join our Environment team in Whiteley, Hampshire. This hybrid role supports the delivery of testing environments for the client programme, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
LocationHybrid role – Whiteley, Hampshire. Attendance at the Whiteley office is required and remote work is available.
ClearanceSC clearance required. The role will require attainment and maintenance of SC clearance.
Roles And Responsibilities- Automation performance – support the automation team with running automated Build Verification Tests.
- Install and environment scheduling for installs and changes to the env desk layout.
- Progress meetings – cover impacts to SG bookings on the environments.
- Primary core infrastructure meetings – technical impact to environment usage.
- Coordinate environment activities, scheduling and booking process for all environments supporting the customer programme – schedule, support and de‑conflict activities, supplier installs, service group activities, maintenance and test activities.
- Daily environment schedule meetings – deconflict activities based on technical limitations and programme priorities.
- Attend meetings as requested within the environment team – keep the schedule current and up to date.
- Daily change stand‑up meetings – awareness of current network activities that could impact the environment schedule.
- Integration review meetings – coordinate environment bookings for integration activities with build and adaptation installs.
- Support data requirements – work with the data team to ensure compatibility of data exporters with the latest builds.
- Schedule and execute Build Verification Tests (BVT) manual and automated – test all elements of the latest build, including new integration elements, verify compatibility and alignment with specifications.
- Support validation and shadowing sessions with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and troubleshoot issues during the sessions.
- Produce QLTRs for BVTs and attend TRRs prior to test phases.
- Create information changes (CHGs) to advise TAB and CAB of environment activities such as shadowing and validation to avoid conflicts.
- Experience managing environments as an Environment Manager, Lead or as part of a Test Lead/Manager role.
- Strong knowledge of networking – understand how network changes impact planned environment activities.
- Knowledge and understanding of version and configuration control.
- Knowledge of remote access via SRAM.
- iTEC/NAS knowledge.
- Understanding of ATC tactical/surveillance systems.
- Service Now experience or ITIL foundation.
- Knowledge of Linux.
- Knowledge of vSphere.
Strong organisational skills and a deep understanding of the installation, development, and test lifecycle, and how environment management relates to overall programme success.
Excellent communication skills to engage with air traffic controllers, technical engineers, suppliers, testers, control board participants, management and planning teams.

Pay Range£36,900.00 – £46,100.00 (general guideline only).
