Job Title:
Lead Structural Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Structural Engineer to join our dynamic design firm located in downtown Indianapolis. In this role, you will spearhead the structural design process from conception to construction completion, working closely with a team of designers and engineers. Your expertise will ensure the successful execution of projects, while you remain responsible for engineering and production using Revit.
Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with technical drafting staff, clients, and external project team members.
- Prepare preliminary designs tailored for clients.
- Review and apply building codes to ensure proper implementation in design.
- Attend client meetings and coordinate with construction project managers, architects, civil, and mechanical engineers.
- Produce structural calculations for collaboration with technical drafting staff during the preparation of construction documents and construction phases.
- Create construction‑ready design drawings that are coordinated with all disciplines to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Manage construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with construction teams.
- BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 4+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally in commercial construction.
- Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gauge steel, and a solid understanding of foundation design.
- Proficiency with Revit.
- Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural Systems, SAP
2000, RISA, or other recognized 3D design packages.
Skills & Qualifications
- EIT or PE certification.
- Experience in light industrial projects is considered advantageous.
Our office is situated in downtown Indianapolis, offering a separate area for 142 Design within the ARCO office. We operate standard first shift hours and provide some flexibility for remote work when necessary for personal appointments. The team provides structural and architectural design support for projects nationwide.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
