Location:
This position offers a remote work environment with a preference for candidates located in the greater Chicago, Illinois area.
Overview: This Development Manager will work with a team of high-performance subject matter experts to collaboratively advance projects. Travel is required, for meetings, public hearings, site visits, etc. You will be responsible for project scope, schedule, budget, & finance model, as well as cross-discipline coordination with Land, Permitting, Real Estate, Interconnection, Engineering, Finance, etc. in the development, & execution of projects, Business Development, and Acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & deliver profitable solar projects located throughout Illinois.
- Understand site selection criteria, environmental & permitting, & interconnection processes
- Set project strategy, chart course with the team for effective & efficient project execution
- Build long-term, positive, trusting relationships with all stakeholders
- Support SMEs in handling any challenging interconnection, permitting or construction related issues
- Thoroughly understand project economics;
Drive the financial modelling to optimize performance and returns - Understand state solar and storage incentive programs, with focus on Illinois Shines and Illinois Solar for All
- Lead Business Development and potential project acquisitions through relationship building and management
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and other PM tools to ensure timely execution of projects
- Work with the Construction team in order to transition projects from development to construction
- Manage consultants and contractors associated with developing each project
- Travel to & represent the company at key community meetings & public hearings, often in the evening & occasionally overnight, as may be necessary
- Other duties for which you are qualified
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in business, finance, engineering, energy, law, or other related discipline
- At least 5+ years with direct experience managing solar and/or storage projects, specifically community solar
- Equity Eligible Persons preferred but not required.
- A high level of social, emotional, spatial, & linguistic intelligence
- Legal eligibility to live in the US & travel throughout the US
- Valid US Driver's license
- Ability to perform site walks on treed, rocky, & sloped terrain in a variety of weather conditions
- Proven experience & leadership in project management, budgeting, & finance
- Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages from land control to NTP

Salary and Benefits:
Bonus Opportunity: 20% of annual base salary
Time Off: 120 hours of vacation and 80 hours of personal time earned within the first year.
