As a key leader in our Flood Risk management team, you'll shape places and spaces that matter across our key sectors, from Aviation, Cities & Development, to Education, Energy and Transportation, while being part of Water Management Consultancy.

- Whether a dedicated project manager or a technical lead, your day‑to‑day activities will involve developing and agreeing the scope of services, managing and supervising junior resources, and actively progressing a suite of projects under your control.
- You will have an excellent grasp of project procedures including financial and change control, report writing, ability to present, and quality assurance through checking and reviewing.
- You will be required to produce high quality client‑facing reports, and to undertake and lead hydraulic modelling and data analysis to support projects.
- On an ongoing basis, you'll be supporting project managers and directors in delivering a range of projects, including strategic infrastructure projects where we may also provide an internally‑facing consultancy service.
- You will be required to lead bidding activities, and to promote the organization's capabilities through your own industry credentials.
- Leadership and Management:
Manage and supervise junior resources. Support project managers and directors by following project procedures, including financial and change control. Actively progress a suite of projects under your control. - Collaboration and Integration:
Work effectively to lead and develop the team, collaborating with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners. Ensure a consistent and integrated service is provided to clients. - Business Development:
Lead business development activities, including tendering for projects and client/stakeholder engagement. Develop and agree on the scope of services, costs, and resources. - Technical Work:
Conduct and lead detailed technical work, including hydraulic modelling, data analysis, GIS, and technical reporting. Ensure quality assurance for technical deliverables. - Team Development:
Contribute to the continued development of the Flood Risk Team through active leadership in the technical network.
- Qualifications:
A degree in Geography, Science or Civil Engineering, and ideally an MSc or further post‑graduate qualification in a relevant subject area or notable experience. - Atkins
Réalis and its clients expect you to have a Chartered status at this grade. (Chartered or Fellow status with CIWEM or ICE) - Experience:
In flood risk management, with demonstrated project delivery and meeting client requirements. Have significant experience in carrying out flood risk analyses for planning, development, and design. - Leadership:
Experience in developing and leading technical teams, and supporting and mentoring staff. - Project management with commercial, contractual and financial management, and project programming. A track record of project delivery and performance, meeting client expectations and maximising commercial performance.
- Be an expert in 1D‑2D modelling using tools like Infoworks ICM, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW/ESTRY, or HEC-RAS, and Hydrological Assessment with FEH hydrological assessment…
