This role will provide direction, support and guidance to our project teams on all aspects of hands‑on environmental management, meeting legal and company standards and helping deliver a culture of continual improvement. It will support site‑based project design, construction controls and mitigations, sustainability opportunities and deliver against client‑led contractual requirements and BBPTD tactical aspects to achieve our strategic goals. A key part of the role will be engagement with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and environmental authorities.

• Completion, reviewing, updating of company environmental documentation, sustainability delivery and a variety of environmental risks and opportunities.
• Producing/maintaining permitting and licensing requirements for specific projects.
• Support with Awards submission entries.
• Fully interpret policy, regulation, and legislation across the portfolio.
• Providing visible E&S support across the portfolio.
• Supports one or more high‑level/value/complex projects through feasibility to post‑construction with the backing of your E&S Team colleagues.
• Supports one or more standalone projects through feasibility to post‑construction.
• Ensure and report on environmental compliance.
• Regular site inspections, including those with client or regulatory representatives.
• Identify and promote innovative solutions.
• Advise and guide all levels within the project portfolio.
• Ensure E&S information e.g. KPIs are cascaded to supply chain.
• Support work winning advising on E&S issues such as planning, permitting, and licensing requirements.

• Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel.
• Professional membership level of a relevant professional body (IEMA/CIEEM/CIWEM) or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience and competence.
• Good knowledge of environmental management with relevant experience.
• Experience working in a construction environment.
• Practical experience and sound knowledge of environmental statutory requirements, including environmental legislation, ecology mitigation, environmental licensing and consent applications and regulation.
• Oversee, develop and direct Graduate E&S roles across your portfolio.
• Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best outcome.
• Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
• Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organisation skills.
• Interpreting and managing data via databases, consistent record keeping and writing detailed reports.
• Be required to visit worksites and offices across Scotland and attend occasional E&S meetings across the UK.
