Electrical Engineer – Energy Infrastructure (BESS & Data Centers)
Location: Texas (remote with some occasional travel)
We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to drive the technical delivery of large-scale energy projects, including BESS and Data Centers. You’ll focus on power system reliability, high-voltage engineering, and grid integration - ensuring smooth coordination with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, developers, EPCs, and technology partners.
What You’ll Do:- Model and analyze power systems (load flow, dynamic, transient stability) for large-scale interconnections.
- Support interconnection studies, regulatory filings, and ERCOT, SPP, or CAISO compliance.
- Review high-voltage substation designs (138kV–345kV) and major electrical equipment specs.
- Collaborate with utilities, developers, EPCs, and data center teams to resolve design and interconnection challenges.
- Ensure SB-6-compliant, reliable interconnection solutions, including backup generation and system stability.
- Contribute to microgrid and islanding designs to enhance resilience and operational reliability.
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering; PE license preferred.
- 2+ years in power systems, transmission, interconnection, or large-scale electrical infrastructure.
- Experience with power system modeling tools (PSS®E, PSLF, PSCAD, ETAP, DIgSILENT).
- Knowledge of HV design, UPS, generators, BESS, and grid compliance standards.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams and external vendors.
Skills:
- Grid-forming controls, black-start/islanding, harmonic analysis, protection/coordination studies.
