We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly communicative Environmental Project Manager to support environmental due diligence and compliance efforts across our real estate portfolio. This position plays a critical role in the review and oversight of environmental and asbestos-related activities, ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating environmental risks.
Responsibilities- Conduct technical reviews of third-party environmental and asbestos investigation reports (Phase I, Phase II ESAs).
- Provide environmental oversight for remodels and special projects, including risk assessments and project setup.
- Manage environmental due diligence for new store acquisitions and developments.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external consultants, landlords, developers, and regulatory agencies.
- Review and comment on remediation and monitoring reports; ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and ongoing obligations.
- Organize environmental data and documentation; manage relevant inboxes (e.g., construction.environmental and asbestos.memos) and other miscellaneous tasks (access agreements, real estate requests, etc.).
- Issue RFPs, evaluate proposals, and award environmental consulting contracts.
- Support access agreements, real estate inquiries, and other ad-hoc environmental compliance needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in environmental and/or real estate due diligence.
- Strong knowledge of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
- Proven experience in project management in an environmental or consulting setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication (must be comfortable reviewing and discussing technical reports).
- Strong organizational and data management skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage environmental responsibilities across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external parties.
- Subsurface investigations and vapor intrusion analysis.
- Risk assessment and risk management experience.
- Regulatory agency interaction and permitting.
- Contaminated site management and continuing obligations.
- Asbestos and hazardous building materials management.
