Space Missions Chief Engineer

At Indra Deimos, we are shaping the future of space technology through pioneering missions in Earth observation, satellite communications, and scientific exploration. Our Systems Engineering Competence Centre leads the technical architecture and development of end-to-end space systems—from concept to orbit.

We are looking for a visionary Space Missions Chief Engineer to lead the technical execution of our most ambitious projects and drive innovation across multidisciplinary teams.

• Lead the technical execution of full-cycle space missions
• Define and manage the spacecraft’s technical baseline
• Coordinate and execute major design reviews
• Ensure compliance with mission and system requirements
• Author key engineering documentation: specifications, interface control documents, test plans
• Validate technical completion and system compliance
• Advise teams on innovative design processes and technical solutions
• Oversee production and delivery of spacecraft systems

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field (preferred)

• 10+ years in the aerospace industry

• Deep knowledge of spacecraft systems and subsystems
• Familiarity with mechanical, thermal, propulsion, and radiation systems
• Experience with space design and analysis tools: CATIA, NASTRAN/PATRAN, ESATAN, FASTRAD
• Hands‑on approach to solving cross‑functional technical challenges
• Understanding of New Space methodologies and low‑level integration techniques
• Operational experience in full mission life cycles
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Capella or Valispace (desirable)
• Familiarity with ECSS or other space‑related standards
