DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
In this position, you will perform a wide variety of advanced consultative mechanical engineering work in support of statewide corrections institutions. Your work will involve completing design data, specifications, and CAD drawings for construction projects, as well as conducting construction project site surveys. You will coordinate design efforts with all disciplines within the bureau, institution staff, retained design professionals, code officials, and any additional interested parties.
Your duties will also include reviewing and approving mechanical drawings, budget estimates, shop drawings, and proposed changes in construction. As a bureau representative, you will be responsible for attending design review meetings and conferences with professionals, institution staff, and other agencies to discuss resulting conclusions and observations. Additionally, you will investigate and anticipate the future mechanical needs of the facilities and make plans to address future operations and maintenance issues.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week after the initial 6-month training period. During the training period, you must report in-office to 1920 Technology Parkway, Mechanicsburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg.
The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview. - Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as a Mechanical Engineer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);
or - Four years of professional mechanical engineering experience which required work on any structural mechanical system.
Special Requirement:
- You must be in possession of a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
