Virtual Design & Construction Lead
Jacobs is seeking an experienced Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Lead to manage and optimize digital delivery processes in the Advanced Manufacturing sector. This site‑based role offers flexible home office opportunities across the United States, with an emphasis on key projects throughout the Advanced Manufacturing Group.
Key Responsibilities- Lead VDC/BIM/Digital Delivery management, aligning technology initiatives with internal and client goals.
- Define and implement Design and Construction BIM Execution Plans for EPCM projects.
- Integrate VDC tasks including 3D logistics, safety planning, 4D scheduling, and 5D Cost & quantity take‑offs.
- Administer the Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud) for design‑to‑construction documentation and coordination.
- Conduct clash detection, lead clash resolution meetings, and serve as the BIM Subject Matter Expert.
- Coordinate laser scan data integration, Scan‑to‑BIM efforts, and validate construction installation against model‑based practices.
- Develop and enforce model redline and as‑built processes, and create mobile‑device training for field employees.
- Lead reality capture and progress reporting using 360 photos, laser scans, and drone data.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on business development, proposals, and estimates, providing VDC expertise and support.
- Recruit, manage, mentor, and develop the VDC team, fostering technical growth and collaboration across disciplines.
- Provide daily on‑site presence, coordinate VDC activities with field operations, and own on‑site VDC processes.
- Minimum of 7 years in VDC/BIM roles within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of BIM technologies and their application in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, Revizto) and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Experience with laser scanning and point cloud data management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven track record of onsite VDC leadership.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, project‑site and virtual environment.
- Experience developing and implementing BIM Execution Plans.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and MEP systems.
- Willingness to work on site at a project near Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- Base salary range: $ – $ per year, with additional compensation based on work location and relevant skills.
