About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the HVAC department at our Atlanta location. The role typically manages one to two smaller projects and serves as the key designer on larger base‑building and infrastructure upgrade projects. The ideal candidate is a technically skilled and experienced engineer with excellent communication, coordination, project management, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design on tenant fit‑out projects and serve as a key designer on base‑building and infrastructure upgrades; assemble riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans; participate in specification writing.
  • Establish design criteria from the project proposal and assemble basis‑of‑design documents.
  • Prepare a complete set of contract documents for the trade, including layout of main equipment rooms, closets, shafts, risers, etc.
  • Design ancillary systems for the trade (e.g., UPS, generators, fuels, secondary water pumps, water reclamation systems) and assemble associated drawings and scope.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, contractor change orders, perform site visits, and conduct punch‑lists with limited supervision to verify accurate implementation of designs.
  • Assist in establishing an efficient project schedule that ensures appropriate use of resources while meeting deadlines.
  • Follow up on progress and completion of tasks; hold team members accountable for timely task completion.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6–9 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of trade‑specific project scope, codes, and coordination with other trades.
  • Knowledge of documentation requirements and content for each deliverable phase (SD, DD, CD, specifications).
  • Proficiency in design calculations and software tools (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Ability to anticipate needs, prioritize responsibilities, and manage multiple priorities.

Estimated compensation range: $100,000–$115,000 a year.
