Senior Electrical Designer 1 – Nuclear Power
Join us at Sargent & Lundy as a Senior Electrical Designer on our Nuclear Power team. This role blends hybrid working with onsite collaboration and remote work from home.
Responsibilities- Utilize and expand drafting skills while collaborating with a multi‑disciplined team to prepare design drawings based on input.
- Apply computer‑aided drafting skills and receive hands‑on training in 3D design software environments.
- Create master sketches to scale, showing the relationship of proposed installations to existing facilities with precise specifications and dimensions.
- Accompany and assist experienced designers on walk‑downs at client facilities to gather information for design projects.
- Interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and support appropriate design adjustments.
- Associate’s Degree in a technical area such as drafting, or a high school diploma with equivalent technical design experience.
- 10 + years of design experience.
- Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (e.g., Micro Station).
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer aid.
- Proficiency with Micro Station.
- Strong multitasking skills across projects.
- NOTE:

- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals for producing technical plans, drawings, and models.
- Understanding of engineering science and technology to relate equipment to technical design.
