Civil Project Engineer II/III – Renewable Energy Structural Design

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Structures and Bridge Design Group
, based in Richmond, VA
. Remote work options are available for qualified candidates. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative renewable energy and structural design projects in a collaborative and forward‑thinking environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design steel piles and steel connections for a variety of structural applications
• Develop cast‑in‑place concrete slab designs
• Apply knowledge of renewable energy systems and terminology to structural design
• Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets
• Support project and task management activities
• Contribute to marketing efforts and proposal development

Skills and requirements include but are not limited to:

• A bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (master’s preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in solar structure design
• PE license is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in structural design software, especially LPile, Mathcad, and Excel
• Experience using AutoCAD for plan development
• Familiarity with Excel/AutoCAD interoperability for creating pile plot plans is a plus

Salary: $80,000 – $110,000 per year.
