Directly responsible for managing the planning, design, engineering, procurement, and construction of high‑value, high‑visibility, multi‑year utility electrical substation and transmission line projects (ranging from 500 kV to 12 kV). Ensures projects align with SRP’s design, cost, schedule, quality, and safety criteria while establishing standard and specific project procedures and reports. Provides operational oversight of staff support functions and project requirements.
What You’ll Do- Lead project management activities for substation and transmission line facilities (500 kV to 12 kV) supporting system improvements, generator and transmission interconnections, and industrial customers.
- Coordinate and prioritize project work plans to meet objectives and milestones, directing a matrix team of internal departments and external contractors.
- Develop study reports, work scopes, bill of materials, constructability plans, RFPs, specifications, and contract documents.
- Communicate project updates to team and management, maintaining accurate records and status reports to highlight risks.
- Administer and coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard processes and procedures for all stakeholders.
- Establish and monitor project budget and schedule, providing leadership to support schedule and cost performance.
- Manage procurement/award of materials and contracted services, including long‑lead‑time equipment and construction contracts with direct recommendation responsibility.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Level 1 (Associate): 0–2 years related experience (or 4–6 years if no degree).
- Level 2 (Journey): 2–4 years related experience (or 6–8 years if no degree).
- Level 3 (Senior): 5 years related experience (or 9 years if no degree).
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the assignment from an accredited institution.
SRP offers a hybrid model for eligible employees, allowing up to three days of remote work per week. All employees must live and work in Arizona.
