Opportunity OverviewEnergy Storage Engineer position based in Juno Beach, FL with remote work allowed, requiring 25% travel for in‑office visits. The role plans, designs, and implements multiple aspects of energy storage projects, providing engineering oversight and consulting across teams to deliver outstanding products. This position blends technical expertise with project management skills, requiring experience in the energy storage field.
Your Day‑to‑Day- Support the design phase and engineer major components for large‐scale energy storage projects.
- Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and work toward better design quality and efficiency.
- Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.
- Work with project managers, manage project milestones, and recognize risks.
- Collaborate with diverse teams, improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls.
- Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing, ensure compliance, and propose solutions.
- Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.
- Travel 25% of the time for project‑specific responsibilities.
- 15+ years of experience in Solar/PV Engineering or Construction.
- Expertise in one or more of these areas:
Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie‑in design. - Familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.
- Knowledge of lithium‑ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections).
- Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.
