Project Manager II - Water/Wastewater at The Haskell Company
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex water and wastewater projects across the United States. The ideal candidate will serve as the single point of contact for clients and coordinate all aspects of project delivery.
Job Responsibilities- Assist project directors in responding to RFPs, preparing conceptual estimates, schedules, and other proposal documents; participate in client presentations when required.
- Monitor design document progress, attend design review meetings, and provide input on constructability, scope, and cost changes.
- Prepare detailed estimates, cost code inputs, and cost control systems.
- Prepare bid packages, evaluate bids, qualify subcontractors, and award subcontracts and major purchase orders.
- Establish project organization (superintendent, PCE, etc.) in collaboration with the director of construction.
- Plan, sequence, and schedule the project; manage the schedule, conduct job site meetings, and prepare updated schedules.
- Control project cost, update labor cost reports, summarize cost reports, and provide project status summaries.
- Coordinate permits, inspections, and approvals with governing authorities and A/E.
- Maintain submittal control—scheduling, reviewing, approving, and expediting submittals from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Manage client relations, including progress meetings, correspondence, change orders, and responses to inquiries.
- Prepare payment requisitions and invoicing; maximize cash flow through invoicing and collections.
- Secure owner acceptance of contract change orders, issue modifications, and update budgets accordingly.
- Manage payments to subcontractors and vendors, reviewing schedules of value, pay requisitions, invoices, and insurance coverage.
- Handle subcontractor and supplier performance issues, including documentation and default notices.
- Review and monitor project progress, quality, and safety; address corrections as needed to comply with contract and company policy.
- Mentor and train construction personnel on the job site.
- Effectively manage project close‑out tasks and warranty work.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent, plus a minimum of 8 years in construction management.
- Knowledge of design and construction of industrial water/wastewater facilities.
- Research experience is a plus; excellent communication, organization, and follow‑up skills.
- Strong sales and customer relationship skills.
- Self‑motivated with high energy and enthusiasm.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related software.
- Requires 50%+ travel.

Physical Requirements
Requires ordinary ambulatory skills and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift 10–50 pounds. Good hand‑eye coordination, finger dexterity, visual acuity, and ability to sit, reach, talk, and hear are necessary.
