Quality Engineer (Mechanical or Product Engineering Background – Consumer Products)
Stratfield is seeking a Quality Engineer with a mechanical or product engineering background to support testing and compliance for consumer products and promotional items. In this role, you will evaluate a wide range of items, such as giveaways, apparel, and branded merchandise, to ensure they meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Remote contract position (12‑18 months). Sponsorship not available. Candidates must be US based.
Responsibilities- Update existing Product Safety Manual to cover regulations and standards for additional products.
- Update test specifications to ensure coverage for these products.
- Work with merchandise suppliers and packaging to meet quality and safety standards.
- Provide project management documentation support for vendor quality and safety.
- BS in Engineering, ideally Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality testing.
- Experience with safety testing organizations (CPSC, UL, QIMA, Intertek).
- Experience with safety and quality for toys and/or promotional items preferred.
