Job DescriptionThe Application Engineer draws on technical and product knowledge to support sales, system design, troubleshooting, and optimal product usage. The role provides product solutions and recommendations in partnership with Business Development Managers to drive sales.
Essential Functions- Strong knowledge of flow meters and valves and ability to determine the best offering for the application.
- Understanding of industrial instrumentation and mechanical operation of valves.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret product datasheets.
- Knowledge of and ability to develop quotes and bids.
- Handling all correspondence and inquiries with customers and account managers regarding product application, technical information, processes, and preparation of quotations and system sketches.
- Assisting customers and account managers on all questions concerning product specifications.
- Capable of performing flow meter and control valve sizing/selection.
- Decision Quality: Makes sound decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment; solutions are accurate and reliable.
- Informing: Provides timely information that enables accurate decision-making.
- Interpersonal Savvy: Relates well to all people, builds rapport, uses diplomacy, and diffuses high-tension situations.

- Technical Learning: Quickly learns new technical skills and knowledge and attends courses and seminars.
- Bachelor’s degree or 3–6 years of related experience.
- Deep knowledge of product lines and related technology.
- Ability to learn customer processes and business practices to identify optimal product solutions.
- Understanding of discounting, margins, and multipliers.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- This position is conducive to remote work; most tasks are technical and performed indoors.
- Some regional travel to customer locations is possible.
- Typical hours are Monday through Friday, with flexibility based on business and personal needs.
