Civil Roadway Designer

This position will be based in any of our following offices - Rapid City, SD;
Omaha, NE;
Bellevue, NE;
Lincoln, NE;
Grand Island, NE.

• Perform fundamental analysis, design calculations, design reports, roadway design modeling, and coordinate drafting project elements with the design team.
• Advance design expertise from start to finish on a variety of transportation projects for state and local transportation agencies.
• Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships; review calculations, organize results for inclusion in the design file, and follow project standards as assigned by the Project Manager.
• Establish project goals and milestones, define responsibilities, coordinate resources, and monitor project progress.
• Design and model simple to complex mill and pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction projects.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related discipline required
• Desire to obtain E.I.T (and pursue P.E in the future)
• Experience performing design efforts and plan development for Transportation projects (including roadway, traffic, hydraulics, erosion control, etc.)
• Knowledge of Microstation, Open Roads Designer, and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
• Willingness to be adaptable to office and field project site inspection tasks to support project design
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in deadline-driven environments
