The Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for customer satisfaction in all aspects of the job: increased throughput, decreased downtime, regular preventive maintenance, and regular upgrades as deemed by Leica Microsystems technical staff. This position reports to the District Service Manager and is part of the Life Sciences Service Organization.

• Maintain customer satisfaction and increase throughput while reducing downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance and upgrades per technical staff guidelines.
• Advocate for customers and act as a steward for Leica Microsystems.

• Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, biological science or military equivalent.
• 1 year of computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Windows networking) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Minimum 5 years of troubleshooting skills and ability to use documentation for troubleshooting.

• 2+ years of field service experience in a related field or military equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in a science discipline or engineering.
• Experience with inventory management, including cycle counts and aging inventory.

• Local travel required daily; ability to travel overnight 40‑50% of the time.
• Territory includes all New England and upstate New York.
• A valid passport or equivalent for travel to Europe.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

This role is eligible for a remote work arrangement; you can work from your home location.

Hourly range: $42.00 to $46.00
. This is a range that we, in good faith, believe applies at the time of posting. This role is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
