Field Service Technician role at Instron

Instron is a global organization that designs, manufactures, sells and services mechanical testing systems.

• Travel to customer sites to perform verification, preventative maintenance, repair, and installation on a wide range of Instron products.
• Work from home, with regional responsibility from central to southeastern GA to the Charleston, SC area. Occasional travel to other locations in the US may be required, up to about 40% overnight travel.
• You will be provided with a company vehicle, appropriate tools/equipment, including a laptop computer, cell phone, and MI-FI device and the support of a well-established service operation.

• Two- or four-year technical degree from an accredited university; knowledge of electro–mechanical systems. Equivalent military or trade school training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret basic technical information involving mechanics and electronics associated with materials testing systems.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics; understand electrical, mechanical and electronic systems; and be familiar with PCs, operating systems, and Windows applications.
• High level of autonomy, plus strong organizational, time-management and customer-service skills.

• Prior field service experience is strongly preferred
• Automation systems experience is a plus
• Experience performing preventative or corrective maintenance on servo hydraulic systems is preferred
• Experience with materials testing is preferred, but not required
• Experience delivering hands-on and classroom training on technically related topics is preferred
