Position: Plant Operator / Sr Plant Operator

Position

We are currently looking for a Plant Operator / Sr. Plant Operator for our Freeport, TX office.

Position Description

This position is responsible for operating the station, maintaining auxiliary equipment, valve inspections, atmospheric corrosion monitoring, tank inspections, facility yard maintenance, gas sampling, and maintaining all tools and equipment assigned to this position. The operator must comply with all DOT, OSHA, and Environmental rules and regulations, regularly lead projects, be authorized to make decisions about equipment, and participate in on‑call duties of the area, responding to call‑outs.

Responsibilities also include compliance documentation for the assigned area and successful completion of all Operator Qualification tasks assigned specifically for this position. The candidate should be self‑motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, meet minimum physical and educational standards, and be able to complete Core Blocks in Safety, Environmental, and Company policies and procedures. The role will be located at our Freeport, Texas station and may occasionally assist other areas if needed.

Required

Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
  • More than 3 years of experience on pipeline operating systems
  • DOT 192 and DOT 195 knowledge and experience in compliance
  • Basic understanding of electricity and instrumentation
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel
  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to prioritize and schedule multiple projects
  • Experience with Microsoft programs
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow company procedures and manufacturer guidelines
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lb. for a minimum of 50 feet to transfer tools and equipment
  • Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns
  • Ability to work alone in extreme weather conditions, including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments
  • Valid driver license with a clean driving record
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
  • Pipeline maintenance experience
  • Electrical experience
  • Instrumentation experience
  • Five or more years of natural gas operations and maintenance experience
  • Associate degree or certificate of completion in electrical or electronics technology from an institution accredited by a national or regional accrediting body
