Position: Head of Virtual Learning, gt.school (Remote) - $200,000/year USD

Overview

GT School operates on a foundation to support Gifted & Talented K–8 learners through AI-enhanced curriculum and mentorship held to exacting standards. We are expanding our virtual offering to enable families to access GT-caliber acceleration regardless of location. This position is designed to create a virtual school model that is demanding, credible, and demonstrably superior.

You will control the entire operational framework of the virtual program. This encompasses designing student experiences, managing advisor effectiveness, implementing cohort-based interventions, and building parent confidence. You will conduct diagnostics, execute rapid course corrections, participate directly in live sessions when required, and establish the infrastructure that enables 3× learning gains to scale reliably.

This is a foundational leadership position aimed at delivering measurable impact. Your scorecard will include retention rates, acceleration metrics, parent confidence levels, and documented student achievements. If you seek independence, operational complexity, and transparent accountability, this mandate is yours to claim.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Creating and iteratively improving the complete virtual student journey to accelerate learning, foster competition, and cultivate belonging
  • Conducting weekly analysis of student outcomes, advisor effectiveness, and parent feedback to surface performance gaps and drive immediate corrective action
  • Managing the operational integrity of the 3× learning framework, spotting XP shortfalls and constructing systems that sustain student momentum
  • Collaborating with advisors to deploy cohort-specific interventions and initiate parent outreach before concerns intensify
  • Developing advisor recruitment, calibration, and development protocols using recorded sessions, analytics dashboards, and performance indicators
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Managing a static curriculum with unchanging procedures and prolonged decision-making processes
  • Delegating performance identification responsibilities while remaining passively informed
  • Prioritizing student attendance over documented academic gains
  • Generating reports that fail to result in observable improvements to student outcomes or advisor actions

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute a scalable virtual education program that reliably produces 3× learning gains, secures parent confidence, and maintains family enrollment through transparent and celebrated evidence of student advancement.

Basic Requirements
  • Demonstrated ownership experience operating a virtual school or online learning program from inception to execution
  • Teaching or instructional experience with firsthand involvement in learning delivery across in-person, virtual, or hybrid formats
  • Advanced diagnostic capability leveraging dashboards, recorded sessions, and feedback mechanisms to pinpoint systemic issues and implement corrective measures
  • Leadership experience managing distributed teams with defined performance standards, accountability frameworks, and consistent execution
  • Proven parent engagement skills with a history of proactive, confidence-building communication strategies
Nice-to-have Requirements
  • Experience creating engagement frameworks such as competitive structures, leaderboards, or community traditions that sustain student motivation over time
  • Exposure to innovative or AI-integrated learning platforms
  • Experience architecting and executing measurable team enablement initiatives including structured onboarding and performance calibration programs

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
