Overview

LEO Intermittent Lecturer - SEAS Master’s Project Skills Module course. The School of Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) at the University of Michigan invites individuals to apply for the position of LEO Lecturer Intermittent to teach one class in Winter 2027 on Teamwork, Collaboration, and Conflict Resolution. The School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) at the University of Michigan invites applications for a part-time lecturer position.

We are seeking candidates with extensive professional experience in preparing students for effective teamwork in capstone project settings. The instructor will use interactive workshops, simulations, and structured working sessions to help students build the interpersonal and operational skills required for successful, client-facing teams. Key areas of focus include setting team norms proactively, handling conflicts constructively, enhancing professional communication, and establishing accountability standards aligned with consulting and organizational best practices.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of interdisciplinary collaboration and experience in developing guidelines for communication, meeting structure, decision-making, work distribution, client interactions, and conflict resolution.

Duties and responsibilities for this lecturer position are:

  • Teach six two-week module mini-courses in the Winter 2027 term. Each two-week course involves six hours of instructional time. All courses are expected to be taught in person on the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus unless there is a compelling pedagogical reason for remote or hybrid instruction.
  • Hold office hours and manage all routine matters related to instruction. While teaching is expected to take place in-person, office hours can be held remotely.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to support SEAS  teaching mission at both graduate and undergraduate levels, potentially including mentoring and supervising doctoral and master s students and leading master s case-based projects.

All class sessions are from January through the end of April 2027.

Required Qualifications
  • Candidates should have a Ph.D., and must have a significant record of practical experience and leadership, as well as a strong network, in the design and delivery of skill-based curricula in leadership, decision-making, and organizational behavior.
  • Evidence of teaching experience or potential in a multidisciplinary setting is required.
