Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Math Olympiad Coach - Part-Time, gt.school (Remote) - $37,500/year USD

You've mastered the difficult challenges. Now apply that expertise where it matters most: preparing talented students to compete, advance, and succeed. GT School serves families seeking more than strong report cards. We develop gifted learners through authentic challenges: national and international contests, publicly visible results, and accomplishments students take with them. This position exists because our mathematics curriculum succeeds only when students emerge from each session more skilled, more confident, and fully prepared for competitive environments.

This is not standard tutoring work. You will lead live online workshops that challenge high-ability students, provide focused contest preparation for competitions such as AMC and AIME, and develop reusable resources that elevate standards across GT Anywhere and GT campuses. If you excel at converting natural ability into documented results and can communicate complex concepts with precision, this role will suit you well.

If you possess a verified history of mathematical achievement and want to help develop the next generation of champions, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Plan and conduct 2–4 live online domain workshops weekly that develop competition-standard mathematical reasoning
  • Provide 1:1 or small-group coaching for particular contests through practice exams, timed exercises, and thorough analysis
  • Identify weaknesses quickly and build customized development plans aligned with each student's objectives and competition schedule
  • Monitor advancement using a structured mathematics progression framework and modify teaching methods based on data
  • Develop original, challenging problem collections and modular instructional materials that other teachers can deploy at scale
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Provide general assignment assistance or grade-focused tutoring lacking clear, quantifiable results
  • Conduct traditional classroom instruction that ends at the standard syllabus
  • Offer unplanned problem practice without strategy, feedback mechanisms, or competition pathways
  • Rely on borrowed or insufficiently rigorous content that fails to meet competitive mathematics standards
Math Olympiad Coach

Key Responsibilities

This position ensures gifted students reliably produce measurable, competition-standard mathematical achievements that GT School can showcase and families can depend on.

Basic Requirements
  • Documented elite mathematical accomplishment (e.g., Olympiad medal, AIME qualification, top national ranking, or equivalent verifiable record)
  • Minimum 6 months of teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience with demonstrated outcomes
  • Capacity to present advanced mathematics in clear, accessible terms to gifted young students
  • Comprehensive knowledge of math competition structures, content, and preparation methods (e.g., AMC, AIME, Olympiads)
  • Effective virtual instruction skills and capacity to maintain student engagement via video
  • Availability for 5–10 hours per week
  • Dependable internet connection and professional video equipment
Nice-to-have Requirements
  • Current, ongoing participation as a competitor, coach, or competition-oriented content developer
  • Background creating reusable instructional libraries, problem collections, or curricula for use by other educators
  • Documented student achievements including qualifications, rankings, medals, or other recognized competitive results
