Position Summary
The Integrated Education and Training (IET) Teacher supports students (16+ years) in IET programs which combine adult basic education, employability skills, and workforce training into streamlined career development for healthcare, skilled trades, and other in-demand career pathways. The IET Teacher will collaborate with content instructors to develop integrated curriculum and deliver instruction for at‑risk populations. This position will work closely with campus, local, and regional partners to effectively propose and implement IET models for our campus.
The IET Teacher is skilled in working with diverse populations and can adapt instruction to a variety of fields.
Additional Duties and
Responsibilities Include:
- Teaches basic reading, writing, math, and employability skills in the context of career training through instruction in IET classes and office hours, if applicable.
- Serves as liaison among adult education students, content teachers, and program administrators and coordinates with departments, organizations, and employers to schedule certification testing, mock interviews, and related services.
- Attends professional development institutes, conferences, and trainings hosted by NM HED and other partners in state IET implementation.

Conditions of Employment- May require valid NM State teaching license in secondary education in a specific area of expertise as appropriate.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications:
- At least five years of experience teaching adult learners.
- Experience in curriculum development or instructional design.
- Experience in job training, career development, and/or advising students in career pathways.
