Primary Job FunctionsThe Online Education Center Instructor manages a variety of virtual courses, maintains accurate student records, and supports students in meeting academic goals. This role provides consistent communication with families, posts important updates, and collaborates with counselors, teachers, and the Director to ensure course alignment and student success. By monitoring progress and offering timely guidance, the instructor helps create an organized, engaging, and supportive online learning environment.

Strong communication, organizational, and time‑management skills. - Ability to motivate students and maintain engagement in a virtual learning environment.
- Oversee all online courses in Social Studies, Health, PE, and CTE.
- Maintain organized grade books for approximately 35 active courses over 8 periods.
- Track and record student assignments, progress, and completion status in the appropriate learning platforms.
- Assist students in staying current with deadlines, retakes, and submission requirements.
- Monitor course content and communicate with the Director regarding any necessary updates or adjustments.
- Provide guidance and encouragement to help students meet academic goals.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance through Parent Square.
- Post updates, important dates, and reminders for students using Schoology.
- Notify counselors when students fall behind or when additional academic or emotional support may be needed.
- Partner with the Director of the Online Education Center to maintain alignment between course standards and Avon Schools requirements.
- Work collaboratively with counselors, administrators, and teachers to provide the best educational experience for each student.
- Uses data effectively to guide and to differentiate to meet the individual needs of students.
- Matches instructional strategies, as well as meaningful relevant activities and assignments, to meet lesson objectives.
- Maintains and analyzes accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative procedures.
- Develops student understanding and mastery of lesson objectives.
- Provides multiple ways of engaging students with content aligned to the lesson objectives by utilizing a variety of learning modalities and intelligences.
